Welcome to Chronicus, a program that empowers your Macintosh as your personal time accountant! Users of SQUEEM Software products who already are accustomed to organizational tools will welcome the advanced features and capabilities Chronicus offers. Newcomers will be especially pleased with the ease of use.
We have made the tedious and often frustrating task of tracking your time with various projects and efforts so easy you may find yourself not so disgusted with the tedious task. If you are a corporate/enterprise user, or a consultant, Chronicus is an absolute must to keep up time.
We hope that you enjoy the benefits of using Chronicus as much as we do. Thank you for using Chronicus, from the friendly folks at SQUEEM Software.
2. What is Chronicus?
Our goal with Chronicus is to provide a tool that allows one to EASILY keep track all your time. Almost all the tools available are too burdened with a clunky interface and require more time to learn to use the product than they do save by using them. Chronicus is very intuitive and doesn't let it's simple presentation drown out a full feature set.
All one needs to start taking advantage of Chronicus is to execute the Cronicus application and start tracking time!

5. Categories
Chronicus organizes everything into categories. Think of these as folders which contain the information you wish to save.
Create a new portfolio by selecting "New" under the File menu. Then click either the "New" button or choose "Create New Category" under the Portfolio Menu. If you wish to change the name of the Category or change it's security properties click the "Properties" button or choose "Edit Current Category" from the Portfolio Menu. You may delete a category by clicking the "Delete" button or choosing "Delete Current Category" from the Portfolio Menu.
6. Accounts
You will notice the top half of the displayed window shows both categories and accounts. You should create accounts that relate to more specific items of work. You may want to Categorize your clients and create an account for each day you work or you may decide to Categorize a project and make each leg of your project an account. You have the freedom to abstract your organization however you choose.
Create an account by either clicking the "New" button in the lower half of the Chronicus window or you can choose "Create New Account" from the Portfolio menu. Notice the dialog carries, by default, the billing rate you may have specified in your parent category.
Modify accounts by clicking the "Modify" button or choosing "Edit Current Account" below the Portfolio menu. The "Delete" button and "Delete Current Account" under the Portfolio menu have perform the obvious deletion of the noted account.
To edit, add, or delete items of work in a category you must click on the Disclosure Triangle control in the bottom left of the Chronicus window; the window will expand. Click the control again when you want to reduce the size of the Chronicus window.
It is possible to just start timing work by clicking the "Start" button - the "Stop" button stops the timing.
7. Tickets
Chronicus equates a unit or work to a ticket. Tickets are revealed by clicking the Disclosure Triangle. You may insert, delete, or edit tickets as you desire. Clicking the Edit button for a given ticket gives you unprecedented control to alter the start/stop times of a ticket, change the description of a ticket, change the bill rate FOR THIS SPECIFIC TICKET, or even allow/disallow printing. These options are all available under the Ticket menu as well.
You may sort all the ticket items by choosing "Sort Ticket List" under Ticket menu.
8. Preferences
You may turn on/off the following features:
1. Display of billing rates.
2. Display of ticket times.
3. Persist working state when changing accounts/categories.
4. Prompt opening of portfolio upon launch.
Optionally, you may set the default naming behavior of accounts to one of the following:
1. Sequential number
2. Use current date
3. Generic untitled
Access to these features are made by choosing "Preferences" under the Edit menu.
9. Printing
By choosing "Print" from underneath the File menu, a neatly organized and spaced out listing of all tickets in the current account will be printed.
10. Registration
SQUEEM contracts much of it’s registration processing through a popular third-party company called KAGI. Kagi offers many methods of registering any of our shareware products with minimal effort on your part.
A. ONLINE (Easiest)
You can register GeoMaxim online via a secured online transaction with KAGI. Historically, SQUEEM is notified within 24 hours and the customer is notified within two days (usually within 24 more hours). This is by far the easiest method and costs you no more than any other method. To register visit our web site or click on the link in the registration dialog in GeoMaxim.
B. EMAIL (Still pretty easy!)
Simply run the enclosed Register application, mark a check by GeoMaxim and the type of license you wish to order. Licenses are below
C. Snail Mail (Old Faithful)
You may still register directly with us, by sending a check or money order in the amount of $10.00 along with the enclosed registration form to:
SQUEEM Software
PO Box 101
Bellevue, NE 68005-0101
You will typically have your registration package back in the mail in about 10 "postal" days, less if you request us to reply via email.
11. Types of Software Licenses
A. Individual
This license allows one user to register one copy at any given time.
B. Site
This license allows a company/person to use an unlimited number amount of copies within a 100 mile radius of a determined point.
C. Worldwide
This license allows a company/person to use an unlimited number amount of copies on the planet Earth. Fill out the personal information, then copy the information and paste it into the body of an EMAIL message to KAGI. They bill you appropriately, and immediately notify us via EMAIL that you have registered. Within two business days we should have emailed you your registration information. If you have not been contacted by us in this time period, please let us know.
